young money salute lil wayne Lil Wayne Salutes Young Money and Fans from Rikers Island Jail

A recent update from Lil Wayne in the Rikers Island jail has a message to his fans and Young Money on their latest accomplishments. Drake and Lil Wayne paved the way for the group to be so successful at the BET Awards, and they continue to stand behind them as they push further. Here is what Weezy had to say.

“I hope everyone’s summer has been going well doing whatever it is you like to do. On my end, I’m alive, breathing and blessed. You already know how I’m passing the time – reading and working out. I know I say it every letter, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for the pictures, rocking free Weezy tees, and continuous letters. They mean the world. I promise to continue to update as much as I can and answer as many questions as I can from you guys. Shout out to my YM family for making me proud last night. Love and appreciate life. God bless.”

Here is a phone call from Lil Wayne on Rikers Island where he spits a freestyle called Light Up. The audio is scratchy since it’s coming from the prison, but you can definitely tell it is Lil Wayne. Free Weezy! Lil Wayne is almost half way through his jail term, so we should expect to hear a ton of new Wayne verses soon. I bet Weezy has been writing down lyrics the whole time he is in prison, and wouldn’t surprised if he dropped a couple albums once he gets released. Keep your head up Wayne!

legal troubles weezy More legal troubles for Weezy

If you can remember, back in June of 2009, Weezy was forced to appear at an Arizona court. Well now Lil Wayne is going to face more legal troubles because the Arizona judge has now issued a bench warrant and raised his bond to $150,000 for not showing up for recent court appearance. Obviously, the reason he didn’t show up in Arizona is because he’s currently locked up on Riker’s Island. Weezy had already pled not guilty to drug and gun charges from the January 2008 arrest in Yuma, Arizona where DEA agents found 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy pills, and a 40-caliber pistol. Currently, you can also check out the actual Lil Wayne inmate details.
